A Ride She Can Count On

“I don’t know what I’d do without them,” says Lynn Patton of Westminster. “I can’t even say how much the Red Cross Transportation Service means to me.” Patton, who has multiple sclerosis and other chronic health conditions, can’t drive herself to her doctor appointments and has no one else who can take her.

As a volunteer-led organization, the American Red Cross always has many opportunities for everyday heroes to make a difference in our community.

Currently, our greatest need for volunteers is:

Health and Safety: Volunteer to enrich and protect your community by becoming a CPR, Babysitting, Life guard or Pet First Aid Red Cross certified instructor.

Office and Business Support:  Assist with data entry, phone calls, volunteer recruitment, communications, administrative support and business development efforts.

Client transportation:  Share your time with the elderly population by assisting with transportation to and from necessary medical appointments.

Service to the Armed Forces (SAF):  Support our men and women serving in the military, as well as their families, through emergency communication and financial services.

Disaster Response:  Red Cross volunteers are the first to the scene of a disaster and provide immediate relief assistance, such as shelter, food, and clothing, to people displaced as a result of a disaster.  You'll also have the opportunity for disaster assistance training.  These classes include things like mass care, humanitarian law, logistics, and casework training.

Youth Volunteers
Youth Engaged in Service (YES!)
If you are 14-17 years old, you too can volunteer with the Red Cross with the permission of your parent or guardian. Please call 303-607-4757 and to speak with the volunteer services coordinator about our YES (Youth Engaged Services) program!
