Colorado Springs, and the Joint Staff at the Pentagon. She has a BS in mathematics from

University and a MS in computer science from CSU. Recently, Jody served as a project manager at Red Rocks Credit Union.
Jody started her Red Cross affiliation last June as a volunteer in the Support to Armed Forces (SAF) department. Support to Armed Forces helps soldiers and their families cope with the stress of military life prior to, during, and post deployment. In addition to providing an emergency communication link, the Red Cross also provides mental health assistance for soldiers returning from combat. In addition to her SAF duties, Jody was a member of the Red Cross Disaster Assistance Team where she was instrumental in setting up a shelter in
Summit
County last November.
"We are extremely excited to have someone of Jody's talents and capabilities in charge of our Red Cross outreach in the mountains," said Mile High Red Cross CEO Charley Shimanski. "Summit,
Lake, and Grand counties will be well served by her leadership."
The American Red Cross helps people prevent, prepare for and respond to emergencies. Last year, the Mile High Chapter, which includes the
Egon
Gerson
Service
Center, helped victims of nearly 300 disasters; taught lifesaving skills to tens of thousands; and provided support to U.S. service members and their families in
Colorado. The Red Cross is not a government agency; it depends on your donations of time and money to accomplish its mission.
Jody has been officially on the job since April 13th. To learn more about Red Cross programs, to sign up for classes, to volunteer or to make a donation please call 970.262.0530. You can email Jody at jacres@denver-redcross.org.
